Coach Romeo is in his 21st year in education and will be entering his 16th season as a Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Coach Romeo’s first head coaching job was at Edinburg North High School in Edinburg, Texas from 1999 – 2002. After leaving Edinburg North, Coach Romeo moved back to his hometown to take on the challenge of building a brand new program at Veterans Memorial High School. He has compiled a 325 – 161 overall record at Veterans Memorial. During his 12-year tenure at Veterans Memorial, the Patriots have averaged 20 wins a season and have gone to the State Playoffs 9 out of 12 years with three District Championships.

Coach Romeo’s intensity, passion, and attention to detail for the game of basketball have helped him establish an outstanding reputation as a teacher of the game.

• Has run his own Lil’ Patriots Basketball Camp for 9 years at Veterans Memorial High School
• Staff member for Coach K’s Basketball Camp at Duke University
• Staff member for several camps for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League)
• Staff member for several D-league try-outs for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers
• Ganon Baker Basketball Level 2 Certified Skill Development Trainer Staff member for several Ganon Baker’s Elite Skill Development Camps
• Participant in the 1st Annual TPG Pro Scout School
